Mississippi State CVM Equine Hospital Now Has MRI for Horses
As a horse owner living in the state of Mississippi it is amazing to me that we are so fortunate as to have a facility in Starkville that has some of the best diagnostic equipment available today. Not only do they have the latest digital radiography and ultrasound equipment but they even have CT and MRI. In the past if your horse needed an MRI you had to haul long distances to find a facility that had that kind of specialized equipment and staff.
Along with the routine facilities found in most equine clinics, MSU-CVM equine department has air conditioned/heated stalls, isolation stalls, neurologic stall, sand stall for laminitic patients, anesthetic induction and recovery stalls and a sterile surgical suite. The faculty and staff is great, having combined expertise in every area of equine health. Having a facility and staff of this caliber in our area is wonderful given how difficult it can be to find resources for our horses.
