TEAM LOUISIANA ARE CHAMPIONS – WHEN THEY SHOWED, THE GROUNDSHOOK, THE SKY OPENED AND THEIR ARENA DREAMS CAME TRUE

7 Globes and 12 Top 15 Horses

Beginning early on July 28th, Team Louisiana began moving into the Oklahoma City Fairgrounds with dreams of accomplishing their goals at the 2010 AQHYA Youth World Show.  The temperature ranged around 110 degrees and was predicted to get hotter.

The first wave of Team Louisiana arriving was halter, western and English youths.  Once the horses and exhibitors settled into their stalls, preparation began.   Practicing patterns, clipping manes, banding and baths were dominate.  Team Louisiana was preparing for their arena dreams.

First up for Team Louisiana was halter. They went in like a storm and brought the first wave of heat with the following youths prevailing in the top 15 in their classes:

Once halter was over, the western and English teams made their way to the arena.  Competition was high with Team Louisiana showing at their best. Some made it to the preliminaries, but unfortunately did not make the top 15.  There is no doubt that Team Louisiana is very competitive in these events.

When everyone thought Team Louisiana might be calming down, then came the ”speed storm” which caused a lot of turning n burning; dipping and darting and all that stuff that goes with the barrel racing, pole bending and stake races.  When the dust cleared, Team Louisiana had rocked Oklahoma City with the following youths prevailing in the top 10:

Stakes  Sidney Sehon      3rd place & Bronze Globe     The Bikini Scandal

Katie Reine                   4th placing                                   Bullys Storm

                                                                                                       (28 years young)

After the speed storm calmed down and OK City thought it might get cooler, little did they know another storm was brewing and it was only going to get hotter.  It was time for the Team Louisiana team penning/ranch sorting/ tie-down roping exhibitors.    Once these youths entered the arena, it was evident that their arena dreams were coming true.  When it did get cooler, Team Louisiana had taken the roof off of the dome with the following youths prevailing:
